Bucs recall Steven Jackson
RHP Steven Jackson will join the Pirates for Monday’s game at PNC Park after being called up from Triple-A to take the roster spot left vacant with Donnie Veal on the disabled list.
Jackson is already on the Pirates’ 40-man roster, so no corresponding move is necessary.
The Pirates claimed Jackson off waivers from the Yankees on May 18. He had a 1.88 ERA in seven relief appearances for New York’s Triple-A affiliate. Jackson also made four appearances with Triple-A Indianapolis and gave up four runs in six innings of relief.
Jackson will be used in a middle relief role.
