Neil Walker to miss 3-4 weeks with left knee injury
Triple-A Indianapolis third baseman and Pittsburgh native Neil Walker will be out for 3-4 weeks after suffering a sprained PCL ligament in his left knee. The injury will not require any sort of surgery, but rehab only.
Walker suffered the injury last Tuesday when he dove into first base trying to beat out a throw. He sprained his left pinkie on the dive, but the next day also started feeling some discomfort in his knee. Walker then flew to Pittsburgh to have his knee examined.
In 51 games for Indianapolis this season, Walker has hit .239 with 15 doubles, one triple, seven homers and 32 RBIs.
Walker had rebounded in to hit .264 in May after batting just .205 through the month of April.
