June 18: Indians (25-40) @ Pirates (23-43)
Somebody has to win, right?
The Pirates and Indians will take the field on Friday a combined 35 games under .500. Yes, for those of you who haven’t noticed, Cleveland’s baseball team has hardly fared better than this Pirates one. The Indians are in last place in the AL Central and have dropped four straight.
Despite the dismal records of these two clubs, expect some good crowds this weekend. I don’t think it will really be due to the whole Cleveland-Pittsburgh rivalry thing, but more because of the 1960 World Series celebration that will be happening.
There will be a reunion of players from that 1960 club on Saturday, and these Pirates fans will come out to see a winner.
