Young heads to Philadelphia

There didn’t seem to be much interest in bringing Delwyn Young back to Pittsburgh, but now that’s official. The Phillies announced on Thursday that they had signed Young to a Minor League deal with an invitation to Spring Training. He’ll be competing for a spot on Philadelphia’s bench.
Young spent almost two full seasons with the Pirates. He had the opportunity to play second regularly during the final two months of the 2009 season but was used mostly as a utility player and pinch-hitter. Young hit .255 and drove in 71 in 234 games.
Brian Bass, who pitched with Pittsburgh last year, also signed a Minor League deal with the Phillies.

I AM very angry that the Pirates got rid of Delwyn Young . Now I will not root for Delwyn YOUng because I hate the phillies. My favorite player on the Pirates is Paul Maholm .
