Some injury news
A few items to update:
- James McDonald said he is going to throw tomorrow (flat ground) and will then have a bullpen session over the weekend. After that, it would seem that McDonald would be ready to get back into game action. McDonald said he feels “way better” and is ready to get going now. The Pirates continue to be extra cautious.
- Ryan Doumit took batting practice, threw and ran the bases on Wednesday morning. He is going to take some at-bats in a Minor League game on Thursday, so he is well on his way to being back. “Feel just fine,” said Doumit, who had a slight oblique strain. “I knew it was nothing to begin with.”
- Chris Snyder is taking it easy today after waking up with some stiffness in his lower back. Snyder had been hitting and throwing the last two days. It’s still a day-to-day issue, but not one that Snyder expects to linger.
The Pirates have not issued any comments today about these injuries. All this information came from the players’ mouths.
