Linebrink sits out with hamstring tightness

Reliever Scott Linebrink will not throw his scheduled live batting practice session today after tweaking his right hamstring on Wednesday. The issue, Linebrink said, is very minor, and the righty said he expects to resume throwing in a day or two.

Linebrink said he felt the hamstring tighten while running during conditioning drills. Thursday would have marked his second time throwing to hitters this spring.

“We don’t want to rush anything,” Linebrink said. “I feel like I can probably go through everything, but just to be on the precautionary side, I won’t throw. We don’t want it to affect us once game starts. We can make adjustments now.”

Linebrink, who is in camp under a Minor League contract, is fighting for a bullpen spot this spring.
