Cardinals Minor League pitcher Jose Pasen has been suspended 50 games for violating the Minor League Drug Prevention and Treatment Program. Major League Baseball issued a release on Thursday that stated Pasen tested positive for a performance-enhancing substance called Nandrolone.

Pasen, 21, is on the roster of short-season Batavia (NY), which does not begin its season until June. Pasen went 4-4 with a 4.45 ERA in 11 starts for rookie league Johnson City (Tenn.) last year. Drafted out of the Dominican Republic, Pasen was converted from an outfielder to a pitcher in 2008.

Don’t like hearing this stuff… Especially a DR recruit… Not likely a prize lost here based on the history & numbers… Now the only important question is: Can he blame it on FedEx??? LOL,
