Not much of a surprise here, but Cardinals outfielder Carlos Beltran has been named the National League’s Player of the Week. Beltran went 9-for-25 with six homers, 13 RBIs, eight runs scored and 30 total bases in six games. He homered at least once in four of those games.
Beltran now leads the NL with 13 homers and is tied for the league-lead with 32 RBIs. This is the ninth time he’s won a weekly award (sixth time as an NL player).
Josh Hamilton, who had an historic week, took home the American League honors.
