Garcia makes rehab start

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

Left-hander Jaime Garcia made his first Minor League rehab start on Monday with the Gulf Coast League Cardinals. Garcia threw the first 2 1/3 innings of the GCL Cardinals’ 4-1 win. He allowed four hits, no runs and no walks. Garcia also struck out one.

This is the first of at least three Minor League starts that Garcia is expected to make. Much like it is during Spring Training, Garcia is building his arm strength back up so that he is able to give the Cardinals’ appropriate starting length when he returns.

Garcia has been on the disabled list since June 6 with a left shoulder impingement.

He’s a head case how do they plan to re-hab that aspect of his game!

I knew it! My faith is with Jaime 120%!!! Go Jaime!

We can never have too many starting pitchers on the roster. Each one gives the
mgmt. options of bullpen, trade, replacement for injury. Go Jaime!
