September 28: Nationals (95-61) @ Cardinals (84-72)

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

David Freese (right ankle sprain) remains out of the lineup today, though he does appear to be improving. Freese sprinted on the field this afternoon with no issue. He also participated in batting practice with the team. A return this weekend seems likely.

As for this series… we could be seeing two teams celebrate postseason berths. Of course, the Nationals are already in the playoffs. But their magic number to clinch the NL East is 3 games (that’s combining wins and Braves losses) and that is what they are waiting to celebrate.

The Cardinals, with some help from the Dodgers and Brewers, could also be assured of at least one playoff game by the end of the weekend. Los Angeles sits three games behind the Cardinals, who are four games ahead of Milwaukee. A win by the Cardinals tonight would officially eliminate Philadelphia and Arizona from the race.

I live in LA and was watching your feed for tonight’s game with Nats on MLB. Several times the camera panned to two St.Louis Blues players in the stands and your announcers mentioned the lock-out, etc BUT I want to inquire about the absolutely beautiful, dark haired ‘knockout’ who was sitting on their left? Living in Beverly Hills/Hollywood and having produced Helmut Newton’s works when I lived in Paris, and now owning and marketing top photographic collections featuring classic and current icons, that girl matched and even surpassed any past or present. I just wanted to know who she is and if she is a model or working with an agency, etc. Not immediately identifying the Blues guys, I thought the camera was just repeatedly panning to her?

PS. For whatever reason I was a Cardinal fan growing up in NY but became a NoCal fan when I moved to the Bay Area many moons ago. That said I have allot of Redbirds on my two fantasy teams, including Holiday, Freese (hope he comes back tomorrow), John Jay, and Furcal who unfortunately has been lost since late August for the remainder of the season.
