Relievers Mitchell Boggs and Edward Mujica – both of whom were arbitration eligible — have agreed to one-year contracts for the 2013 season. Financial terms of those deals was not immediately known.
With Boggs and Mujica signing, the Cardinals lower their total of unsigned arbitration-eligible players to three — David Freese, Jason Motte and Marc Rzepczynski. The club exchanged desired salary figures with each of those players earlier today. The figures filed by both players and teams will be released later in the afternoon.
The Cardinals can continue to negotiate with Freese, Motte and Rzepczynski up until a scheduled arbitration hearing, which would fall between Feb. 4-20.
