Day 15: Astros @ Cardinals
Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com
A third game, a third different starting second baseman for the Cardinals. Kolten Wong gets the assignment today. With Allen Craig (right shoulder soreness) and Matt Adams (left knee soreness) still limited, Ty Wigginton gets another start at first base. Adams said this morning that the swelling in his knee has gone down but that he doesn’t expect to participate in any of the workout activities on Monday. He is on Tuesday’s travel roster, though, so that would suggest the Cardinals expect him to be available soon.

I could be really out of the loop – but why does the lineup change every game? I would think that if they knew Player X was going to play Position Z in season – they would want to keep him there. For example – Descalso playing 3B last game and Freese playing 3B today. Is it just purely to develop younger players?
