Day 18: Marlins @ Cardinals

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

Yadier Molina gets his first start of the spring at first base, a position that the Cardinals wanted to get him some work at since there’s a chance he’ll be playing there in the World Baseball Classic. Also, Allen Craig returns to the lineup… but still not to the field. He’ll serve as the team’s designated hitter.

Before the Grapefruit League game, the Cardinals will host (on the backfields of the complex) the Marlins in a “B” game. Seth Maness is starting that game for St. Louis. Rafael Furcal will get at-bats by serving as the DH in that game. Many of the participants in this game come from the Cardinals’ early Minor League camp.

JL, I’m going down spring training for the first time in a couple of weeks and was wondering if fans can watch the B games, if there are any when I’m in Jupiter?

Yes, with free admission on a field behind the main stadium.

Do you know how Seth Maness pitched in this game? I can’t find the box score anywhere. Thanks.
