August 25: Braves (77-52) @ Cardinals (76-53)

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

For the first time since July 30, the Cardinals take the field today in first place (albeit a tie) in the National League Central. Since Aug. 10, the Cards have made up four games on the Pirates. Of course, winning eight of the last 10 certainly helps expedite that climb.

Manager Mike Matheny, as he has done with regularity lately, loaded his lineup with right-handed bats against Atlanta lefty Mike Minor. That means David Freese, Shane Robinson and Pete Kozma are all back in. MLB.com’s game preview can be read by clicking here. Also, a win today would give the Cardinals their second four-game sweep of the season.

For those outside the local market, remember that today’s game can be seen on TBS (2:15 p.m. CT start).
