NLDS Game 2: Pirates (0-1) @ Cardinals (1-0)

Jenifer Langosch/MLB.com

It’s early on this Friday, but there is already news coming out of the #STLCards clubhouse. Manager Mike Matheny announced that it will be Michael Wacha starting the if-necessary Game 4 on Monday. Matheny said he went with Wacha over fellow rookie Shelby Miller mostly because of how well Wacha has pitched lately. You’ll remember that he is coming off a near no-hitter in his final regular-season start. A lesser factor, but one nonetheless, is that Miller didn’t pitch all that well in his for starts against Pittsburgh this year.

Of course, the Cardinals hope they won’t need a Game 4 starter at all. And by winning Game 1 on Thursday, that opportunity remains.

Dear Jenifer
I follow you by Twitter and in this blog, I want to give many thanks for your notes, I appreciate them so much.
Greetings from Guatemala!

Cole faces Cards for the first time,in Busch Stadium.Advantage Cards after the first time through the line-up.

Jen,
Do ever have an opinion on anything or just spew some basic facts like starting line-ups? Just once lets hear what you think, not what someone told you.
Do think starting Lynn was a good Idea or not?AND explain.

Sorry it should have been ‘Do you think…….’

Dave M – maybe you should start your own blog instead of complaining about how someone else writes their blog. I just checked and see that WeNeedANewShortstop.com is available! :-)

Kris,
So you think resubmitting data from MLB.com and/or the Cardinals web site is the role of a Cardinal (“insider”) blogger.Cause if you do than your post is meaningless and uninformed of the roles the MLB Reporter Blogs are about.Check out the other ones. Many actually have people that inform you of things and give an OPINION.
Go Cards

Why play Kozma in the first game? He has no bat and as we all saw error prone. Please play Descalso so we can win the game before it is too late to win the game.
