World Series Game 6: Cardinals (2-3) @ Red Sox (3-2)

By now, you’ve almost certainly heard of the Cardinals’ travel adventures on Tuesday. All the details — including reasons behind the delay and type of pizza served on board — can be found in this full story (and on video) at MLB.com.

For the third time this postseason, the Cardinals are playing a win-or-go-home game. The club got past Pittsburgh in elimination games twice in the NLDS and now must do the same against Boston in order to capture a 12th franchise championship.  They are seeking to become the seventh team in World Series history to win Games 6 and 7 on the road. It last happened in 1979 (Pirates over Orioles) and has three times included the Cardinals (1926, Cardinals over Yankees; 1934, Cardinals over Tigers; 1968, Tigers over Cardinals).

If they want to force a Game 7, the Cardinals will need their offense to come alive and likely one more gem of a start from rookie sensation Michael Wacha.

The Cardinals 2013 season is over. They didn’t hit, especially with runners on base,AND how many times with runners on third less than two outs.Besides my year long rant of ‘we need a shortstop’ we also have other needs, 3rd base:sorry David, but it’s time.CF:Jay takes strikes down the mid.,then swings at dirt balls.Beltran has been a bright spot but will he last,(ONE year contract only). Also a LH reliever R.Choate just scares me but not LH hitters..Garcia is too questionable so a LH starter wouldn’t hurt.

As far as the series goes,I feel like the Cards were 0-6,with the Sox winning two of them for the Cards with sloppy defense. The team we saw this summer didn’t show up.I would have like to see the Sox try and beat that team.A note to my previous post.Matt Adams is also a question mark going forward, but I’m willing to wait longer on him.
