Bourjos also avoids arbitration

Like Jon Jay, center fielder Peter Bourjos has avoided arbitration by agreeing to a one-year contract with the Cardinals for 2014. With Bourjos now signed, too, Daniel Descalso is the Cardinals’ only unsettled arbitration case. Later today, the two sides will exchange desired salary figures. They can continue to negotiate up until the point of an arbitration hearing, which would be scheduled for sometime during the first three weeks of February. The Cardinals have not gone to a hearing with a player since 1999.

Bourjos, according to Joel Sherman of the NY Post, will make $1.2 million in 2014 and can earn an additional $150,000 through plate appearance incentives.

Hopefully there is more to the posts than what we have seen in the last year. Sorry but this blog is very dull compared to other mlb reporters. Try studying muskrat at least she posts frequently enough to keep her readers engaged.
