Day 29: Braves (6-9) @ Cardinals (3-7)

wpid-0313140934.jpgFor the first time this spring, the Cardinals are giving Allen Craig a start back at first base, which was his primary position in 2013 but won’t be at least at the start of this season. Though the Cardinals project Craig to open the year in right field, he will be asked to play first base at some point in 2014 — so why not get him some game repetitions there now?

Similarly, the Cardinals have begun to move Jon Jay around the outfield so he can exposure in the corner outfield spots. Jay started in right field earlier this week and is in left field today.

This is one of the final two spring games the Cardinals will play before eliminating the designated hitter and having their pitcher bat. Lance Lynn is making his third start of the spring today and should be able to push to at least the 60-pitch mark.
