Day 41: Cardinals (10-11) @ Marlins (16-10)

wpid-0325140904.jpgOnce again, Jose Fernandez draws a start against the Cardinals, who have scored three runs in eight spring innings (two combined starts) against the reigning NL Rookie of the Year Award winner.

There is even more familiarity between the Marlins and Cardinals starter Lance Lynn, who is now facing Miami for the fourth time this spring. He shut the Marlins out for two innings in his spring debut and has since given up eight runs on 10 hits and four walks to them in 5 1/3 innings.

This will be Lynn’s final start of the spring, though he will pitch on the side between now and his first regular season start — expected to be on Thursday, April 3.

A day off for Matt Carpenter gives Kolten Wong a chance to bat leadoff for the day.
