May 26: Yankees (26-23) @ Cardinals (28-22)

wpid-img_20140526_120317071.jpgAs everyone certainly knows by now, the Yankees have come to town for a three-game series that kicks off in grandiose fashion with a nod to both Derek Jeter and the Cardinals’ 1964 World Championship club. Both will be honored in pregame ceremonies this afternoon. Fox Sports Midwest will be airing both as part of its coverage.

The game (3:15 pm CT) is also being shown nationally on ESPN.

With this being Memorial Day, the Cardinals and Yankees will be wearing caps and jerseys with camouflage script/background as part of MLB’s efforts to honor those who have given their lives in service to this country.

The Cardinals returned home early this morning following a series win in Cincinnati. The club has won four consecutive series and has a nine-game homestand now on tap. The Cards are 14-7 at home this season, with Matt Holliday having reached base safely in all 21 of those games.
