wpid-img_20140806_154635232.jpgAll the intrigue tonight is on the pitching matchup, which features best buddies Joe Kelly and Shelby Miller as opponents for the first time in their career. Both members of the 2009 Draft class, Kelly and Miller made the climb through the Cardinals’ system together, often living together as roommates along the way. For more on the matchup and their thoughts about it, you can read the full game preview.

Not much else in the way of important pregame news. The lineup is unchanged from Tuesday, when the Cardinals struck for a second straight come-from-behind win. The club is 3-1 on this homestand and has won four of five since the Trade Deadline.

For those of you out-of-market folks, a reminder that tonight’s game will be shown on ESPN in addition to FOX Sports Midwest.

2nd loss to Balt. and I’ve that sinking feeling again.

Well we’re 115 games into the season and the Cards record says exactly what kind of team they are. A winning team that isn’t good enough to be in the playoffs.86-87 wins at best. I’ve waited for the big run and now I believe they don’t have it in them.
Reasons can be put out there,Yadi being hurt for one,but even when he was in the lineup we struuggled.POWER and the lack of it hurt us alot. Time to move on from Holiday.Jay bounced back and Oscar is in right.Get rid of Holiday and go strong after Stanton.Carpenter at 3rd has been a disapointment 12 errors and what he gives you is fine.285 BA and no pwer. It’s a position we need more pop from too.Based on contracts next year doesn’t look like much will change.Yadi and Waino aren’t getting any younger so the winning better be soon.
It just feels like a wasted year.It was theirs to lose and thus far they have!!!
