NLDS Game 2: Cardinals (1-0) @ Dodgers (0-1)

wpid-img_20141004_150433889_hdr.jpgThough they scored 10 runs in a Game 1 win, the Cardinals have tweaked their lineup because they will be facing a righty (Zack Greinke) tonight in Game 2. Jon Jay jumps back into the two-hole, while Kolten Wong makes his first career postseason start. Randal Grichuk, who homered in his first playoff at-bat on Friday, remains in the lineup as the Cardinals’ right fielder. Though his numbers against right-handers aren’t as impressive as they are against lefties, Grichuk put together some nice at-bats against righties late in the year and still provides the Cardinals with an above-average glove.

The start belongs to Lance Lynn, who is still looking for his first career playoff start of at least six innings. In all but two of his previous five postseason starts, Lynn was chased before even getting an out in the sixth. He already owns the franchise record for most postseason appearances (21), but he’s won only once as a starter. In a year where Lynn has taken some huge strides forward, that would be the next. For more on Lynn’s start, read this piece.

First pitch tonight is scheduled for 8:37 pm CT, with MLB Network televising.

What’s with Harold Reynolds? He seems bent on accusing the Cards of stealing signs…he makes it sound like cheating….not illegal, but watching the base runners, they hardly seem like they are looking into the catcher during the signs. Is it just sensationalism? Or does he just hate the Cardinals?…..like the majority of national media? Loved the Matt Holliday interview after game 1, he was genuinely annoyed by that question.

Being able to pick up signs is part of a heads up team. I don’t mean using cameras, but an alert bench guy that picks up something and passes it on to the staff and players has always been a valuable asset.Change your signs, don’t blame players that pay attention and are “IN” the game.
Also, why aren’t all the games on channels we all get? What is channel FS1 anyway?
Oh I know,it stands for “F$#k sportsfans 1st”:)
