Wow, Lackey put his bat on the ball pretty good today. Not to mention his pitching was terrific. Holliday & Carp out, but we still kicked hiney. Way to go Cards!

Red Sox should have never DH’ed for him:) Waca 5-0,but I’m not sure pitching records are as important as a quality start.Liriano actually threw better and lost.I’m concerned about Carpenter. This “fatigue” bologna is cover for something else or they have no clue. I think the latter and I’m worried about what they’ll find.
Wonder who the Cards are eyeing as a possible starter via trade.Hammels may be too expensive, Garza and Lohose may not be the level of quality they want,or they stand pat and hope from within i.e. Garcia,Gonzalves or ?????man. Whatever their choice I think another starting arm is what they’re targeting.

An interview I saw said the Cards’ players call Carp their “gym-rat”….and that he shows up every day at least an hour before everyone else. MM says he’ll need to monitor Carp’s work-outs more closely from now on, to be sure he doesn’t over do it. I suspect that Carp’s probably just doing too much cardio. Not likely weight-training, considering his appearance. As for trades? I never try to guess on that stuff.
