Happy Independence Day from up north. Maybe the holiday spirit at home can revive their play. They keep letting he starters down as you cannot expect much more that Wacha gave yesterday. Hope Martinez gets some support today.

Amen! : )

Shew…that’s a winner! I’ve been wondering if our Cards’ last few losses were due to karma, etc….OR does the AL simply have better teams than the NL? We honestly, don’t play many AL team games.
Not that the All-Star Game really counts. But since & including 2000? The AL has won 11 of the 15 All-Star games they’ve played. The players never really give 100%, granted…since it’s not worth risking an injury. But still…the stat makes me wonder…

But then again, since & including 2000? The NL won 8 World Series, and the AL won 7. Hmmm….

Happy 4th to all. And thank goodness our offense isn’t as bad as the Padre’s Martinez
was good again and throwing like an ace.Trade rumors have us link with Lind or LaRoche.I’m not hrilled with either and I say stand pat if those are our options.
Get me Pollock Mo!!!

Yes, there’s lotsa’ chatter online, saying the Cards simply need to stand pat. We’ll see. Oh, and the FBI has finally charged one (1) Cardinals’ front office staffer, by the way. They’re tight-lipped tho’, about who it is.
Correa still maintains he did nothing illegal. He claims he merely got access to the Astros database, using an old password (making it close to an authorized entry). He just wanted to check if any of the former Cardinals hired by the Astros had taken & used any of the Cardinals’ “proprietary info” with them.

Correa checked illegally though so his justification is an excuse, not a proper explaination.
Remember when the team with the best record had the home field WS advantage.
I think we should go back to that, because then the team IN the WS has control over their own playing destiny, not some guy who enters the game in the 7th inning
gets a hit to win the All-Star game, but plays for a team out of it in July.

As or Correa? I gotta’ think that his atty (or somebody) told him it wasn’t a crime if he used an old password he already knew.
Wiki says until 2002, the WS home-field advantage alternated each year. But in 2002, the All-Star game ended in a tie. So…it was decided that the winner of the All-Star game there after, would get home-field advantage…(only as a 2 year trial thing). However, it’s stayed that way indefinitely. Alternating seems the most fair.
And you’re right. Some home run by a player whose team is out of the running, can determine the winner. Shouldn’t be that way….

I still say best record gets home field. This way everyone plays out the season.

Sure…that works. It shouldn’t have anything to do with the All-Star game. Happy 4th back at cha’, btw. ; )
