Surely Grichuk needs to sit (if not be sent down) to think things over and unwind a bit? Keeping him at it in the face of failure must undermine his confidence. Maybe use Bourjos or even bring Piscotty up for a try as has worked with Pham and Scruggs?

I’d stick with Grichuk.Young players for the most part become a better players in the long run when an org. stays the course with them. Lester has the worst pick-off move for a LH I’ve ever seen.So bad that he’s aware of it and doesn’t throw over at all.
Tonight’s plan……run run and run some more.
Oh,one more thing about Grichuk, his WAR is 1.7 higher than Bourjos or Jay. Play the lad,he won’t disappoint.
Let’s see how much the ESPN guys gush over Madden tonight. Also notice how much camera time Joe gets over MM. I’d still rather be MM………. or Bill Gates.

Agree Grichuk should stay in. Lotsa’ young players hit highs & lows before they even out their stride. Shelby, for one. : )
Tim McCarver just said that Carp shouldda’ stretched out his lead from first base, and go half way to second….just to see if Lester would at least TRY throwing to 1st base once. LOL!

Hmmm…I just switched to the MLB network real quick…and they were saying Lester has a no-hitter going. So what? Score’s still zip-zip.

I’ll be…that didn’t last long. lol…

OK, the umps shouldda’ called the game BEFORE the Cards batted in the top of the 8th. Heck, it was pouring even then.
Our announcers just said the Chicago forecast is for strong rain until maybe midnite…when it’s supposed to clear up.
The rules say the game has to go thru the 5th inning to be considered an “official game”…which it has. Of course, there are conditions to that. But like I said, the game needed to be called after the bottom of the 7th.
Geez, in St Louis…they’ll go into rain-delay even if it’s barely spittin’ out. Nothing like it was raining there….

6-0,glad I stayed up.Lester still doesn’t throw over to 1st and the Cards stole 3 times, twice with no throw. If I was Montero I’d be p$@$%$^ off. He never throw over when I watched him in Boston either. Grichuk breaks out….glad to see that.

Yep, worth watching tonite. I googled Lester about the 1st base issue. I guess he’s just not good at it?
Our local commentators were even discussing it, post game. Horton said he used to know a pitcher years ago, who couldn’t full-on look at 1st before he threw. He had to look away, wind up, THEN only look a split second before he’d throw. Otherwise, he’d usually throw a wild pitch over the the 1st baseman’s head.
And boy, Grichuk sure needed that hit. The “Flyin’ Hawaiian” did it again tonite, too! He’s sumpin’.
I WAS keeping an eye on Montero to see if he was upset with Lester not throwin’ to 1st. That’s gotta’ be frustrating to deal with, no doubt.
Double-header tomorrow. Lyons pitching game 1, Cooney game 2. Lyons hasn’t had the best outings thus far, so his performance could be questionable. Personally, I think Mitch Harris should sub as a starter when needed. Harris started late in the game, and he appears to improve incrementally, each & every game.
Whatever the case….go cards! I’ll be happy if we can just split the series.

Thanks for the imput.

Now that A.J.Pollock is an All-Star,I’ll never get my wish for him to be a Cardinal. He will be too expensive for Mo now.

Well, I suppose Pollock was lucky I voted so many times for him, eh? Hehehe.

I did over thirty times. Can’t believe Kershaw not named to the team.

Yeah, I think everybody was shocked about Kershaw.

Poker therapy is wholly determined by numerous factors, not minimal of which
will be the cards, both clear and normally, along with the players
engaged.
