The last time we faced DeSclafani….we lost 1-0, but the article also said Moss is 3 for 6 against him (a home-run included in that). Our offense needs to step it up this game.

The next couple of series are inportant in two ways. 1.) They’re are within the division and 2.) the most important is that the Reds and the Brewers have thrown in the towel so we have to take advantage of that and step on them some.Problem is they get to play free and easy with no expectations.

Good point. When a player isn’t under pressure to perform…ironically, it usually makes him play better. It’ll probably be a nail-biter tonite. ~sigh~

Definitely a disappointing effort. These are games you have to win. Too bad Lackey took awhile to settle down. Hope this is not a trend; The Cubs are getting hot right now.

Yeah, I saw that the Cubs blanked the Bucs 5-zip tonite.
A local radio sports show, was just discussing an article in the Washington Post last week, that claimed the Cardinals are just plain ole’ lucky. The writer wrote that he’d dissected the sabermetric analytics, and they’re not what they seem to be. Then, this one other article I ran across somewhere, said there’s no math to explain the Cardinals success.
But how can winning the most games out of 106, be luck? Being ahead after a measly 5 or 10 games might be luck. But not after as many as we’ve played.
Just seems like a bunch of people this season, feel the Cards record is simply a fluke. Hmmm.
The radio show host also felt the Cards won’t probably wanna’ re-sign Lackey next year. I was sorta’ thinking they would.
The topic of Jaime Garcia came up too, and I suppose everybody’s concerned about him making it thru the rest of the season. He’s definitely an odd bird. Hard to figure out what’s in his head.
I heard or read somewhere, that Jaime isn’t real fond of the rehab assignments they want him to do before they bring him back up. Maybe he feels he should save his arm only for games that count?
Anyway, let’s hope Martinez has a good outing tomorrow…along with a few good at-bats. Frankly, that’s all we needed tonite. One or two more hits would’ve done it for the Cards.
