Looks like MM is giving Bourjos some playing time tonite. No Pham or Reynolds in the starting line-up. Moss is playing 1B since he hit those recent HR’s. As MM says, you earn your playing time….and Moss has certainly earned it : )

Tonite’s pre-game interviews: Nothing earth-shattering. Jay’s officially back. Not in tonite’s starting line-up, but he’s been activated again.
Nothing wrong with Wacha. MM merely wanted to give him some extra rest. That’s about it.

This is one night I would like to be there for sure – 1967 replica rings which was they series when I started watching.

Not sure how Bourjos earned a start but we will see. The rest of the lineup has been going well, but Pittsburgh will be tough.

Uh-oh…

Looked like Martinez was going to settle down but now he has given up more runs. Hope it doesn’t turn out that our two young starters fade under pressure at the end of their first full seasons – and with both Lynn and Lackey uneven sometimes, and Garcia often absent. We would need all of them to be sharp in the post-season, with the likes of Mets, Toronto and others pouring on the offense these days.

Right on all counts. : (

Well Choate is coming in now, so all will be well…

But seriously the Pirates have made a statement in this game and the Cards will have to respond in support of Garcia tomorrow.

Yes they have. The Pirates made it look easy tonite. I can’t believe the Brewers swept ’em. Wow.
Happ pitched a great game, plain & simple. The Cards just have issues with good pitching. Martinez was really off. Not sure what his problem was. Oh, well…2 more games to go. Let’s hope for the best.

Btw…last nite was the 18th time this season, that Mr “Choke” didn’t get his man.
