Holy Cow! St Louis is going nuts on this, the Cardinals home opening day!!!

Are you heading out to festivities? Looking forward to Lou (if MLB TV actually shows the opening). I listened hours on scratchy AM to KMOX to follow his season and career stolen base records.

WOW,the best game of the season thus far including spring training. Where to begin?
I say Lou Brock attends all our games.Young guns doing it and now the vets are joining in. AND we left the cellar. Haley’s back and we won….. a good sign!

I’m not one for crowds anymore, so I passed on the festivities downtown.
Rumor has it that it should only be a few days before Hazelbaker jerseys are in stock & ready to sell. Who knows….Hazelbaker just might turn out to be the Cards’ version of a Bryce Harper.
And yes, it was wonderful seeing Lou Brock out there today. I think it was actually his first public appearance since having his lower left leg amputated. Probably takes a while to learn to walk with a prosthetic.

I don’t care for crowds either so I stayed away from the UConn ladies basketball parade although I was in Hartford Sunday. We all know Hazelbaker is not going to hit .526, but its fun to watch and I’m happy for the young man. I think the best thing he’s done is wake everyone else up.
I remember the ’67’ WS,when Brock totally freaked out the Boston pitchers. 2 balks and countless throw overs, reducing their concentration, and then he’d still swipe a bag when ever he wanted.

Yeah, probablyno way Jeremy H can keep up that BA. Hard to say too, if the Cards hit so well merely ’cause the Brewers’ pitching wasn’t that good. But yesterday’s game surely DID spark the rest of the team. That’s for sure.
Aledmys was great too. Even Adams got a hit.
Perhaps Grichuk got walked a coupla’ times ’cause he’s finally & somehow learning to be more selective? All in all…it was a terrific day for the Red Birds!
