So Wacha joins Wainwright as definitely weaker than we thought he would be this season. Seems a consistent issue now. Leake had a better games on the road trip but the starters aren’t up to the job, and Maness has definitely become another Mitchell Boggs. Oh well.

Yeah, pitching hasn’t been the best lately. It looks like we might need Alex Reyes, once he’s off suspension May 21st. However, they’ll likely want him to pitch some games at AAA, before bringing him up. Let’s hope Kiekhefer brings his best stuff.

Where’s Sam Tui?

Good question, Jeff. I thought maybe Tuivailala might’ve made the cut this year. I’ve always liked him.
A recent article says he’s currently playing at AAA Memphis, and he was likely in consideration to make the roster this year, except for the Lyons situation. The only other factor could’ve been Sam’s a righty but Lyons is a lefty.
Still…maybe they’ll bring him up sometime this season if the Birds need a RHP. Who knows. All I DO know, is he’s quite capable of throwing some major-league heat!
Incidentally, he started out as a SS & 3B guy in the minors initially…then switched to pitching. Interesting, eh?
