REDS?

Floyd Jett floydkjett@cs.com

Ryan Braun’s back in the Brewers’ line-up. But then, we have Piscotty back too. Wong’s sitting out again, poor guy. But Gyorko’s BA is just better. That’s all.
Whatcha’ smokin’ Floyd? ; )

No, no, no….this is all wrong. How can the Cards kick hiney vs the Brew-Crew like this, when Milwaukee took 2 outta’ 3 from the Cubbies last time THEY played? I just don’t get it.

I think this team would be better off with Carp at 2B, Peralta at 3B when he returns and leave Diaz at SS. Glad the Holiday at 1B seems to be over. Moss or Adams may need to go soon.
This team for the most part can score runs, it’s the pitching and defense which is hurting us the most right now. The offense seems to slump whenever we play the Cubs or Pirates and that will need to be addressed if the playoffs are in our future.
AND about Floyd…………Which one is Pink?

You might be right, Dave. If MM wants Peralta is to play again? Sitting Wong out may be the only way to keep the hot-bats in the line-up.
Looks like Diaz batting 2nd could be the norm from now on.
I also think Reyes will probably be called up sooner than later. Our pitching just hasn’t been very good.
Jaime will either kick butt or suck today. That’s been his MO lately.

Jaime was average but the Brewers starter really shut them down. That on again off again offense. A sweep on the road is tough of course but this was kind of a snoozer from a Cards standpoint.

1/3 of the season has gone by and inconsistency seems to be our only constant.
Wonder what management has in mind? The team needs a jolt, a big JOLT to shake things up.
And you what to beat the Cubs? ……………….throw strikes. They have a team BA of .254. Throw strikes and they’ll get themselves out 75% of the time. They’re also near the league top in walks. Don’t walk them and they’ll do the rest.
I still think the Cards are capable of a big season, but ever since spring training I haven’t seen the fire that I’m use to seeing. It’s why I predicted 86 wins. Is that the players or MM fault? Maybe its the leadership and that’s where the JOLT should occur?

June 3rd – 10 games back in the Central. 1.5 in the WC race.
