Now we face a good team. Lets see if we can win the series.

Did you see Jen’s tweet over to the right? Peralta slotted to occasionally play 3B when he returns…which means Carp will be at 2B if & when Greg Garcia’s not there. Thus…Wong’s opportunities to play are shrinking, as she said.

Saw that coming!!

MLB has started a stats heavy alternative broadcast for a game or two a week. Watching Cards-Giants on that feed. Info on pitch spin, running speed, defense efficiency getting to balls etc. Not sure I’ll stick with it though as camera work is poor and making me seasick.

But manager is still doing odd things – why is Grichuk still hitting ahead of Garcia and Molina etc?. Predictable double play there.

And a dribbling ground-out with the bases loaded.

Again we can’t beat the teams bound for the playoffs.

Grichuk is a terrific out-fielder, but only a sporadic hitter. I guess MM feels he hasn’t hit his stride yet, so he keeps putting him in with fingers crossed. But eventually, Grichuk could end up with Wong on the bench if his batting consistency doesn’t improve fairly soon.
Wonder why they’re not bringing up Reyes yet? He’s a starter. Maybe they feel it’s premature to throw him on the mound in a pressure position like that. Could be they prefer he begin as a part of the bull-pen first? That’s where Martinez initially started out. Aw heck, I dunno’….
