Beating Seattle was great. The bad news is that, that was our first inter league win of 2016. Our record is 1-7 vs. the AL this year. K.C. is the type of team that the future of baseball will look like, with the exception of having a real ace on the staff, which K.C. really doesn’t have. They get away with it because they put the ball in play and play above average defense. Our staff overall is better, but are well below K.C. in every other area. I love this series………..Missouri vs.Missouri, I think Missouri will sweep the series.

Hahaha…real funny, Dave. Both KC & the Birds are 39-35. We’re 9 back of 1st in our division, but they’re only 5 back in theirs. I do like playing KC, our buddy.
Looks like poor Fryer will be going down to AAA tomorrow to make room for Pena. But I think they’ll protect him to keep him around, just in case. Fryer’s really been a darned good catcher. Great at-bats, too.
I’m also thinking that Pham might end up being Grichuk’s permanent replacement in CF. Randall’s had some good hits at AAA, but he’s still whiffing a bunch, as well.
And Rosie will probably be tested in innings 6-8, just only when there’s a huge lead. But if he starts messing up? Bet he gets yanked PDQ!
I wonder if MM caught a lot of flack from the team for allowing Rosenthal blow their lead…when Trevor had clearly been less than effective his recent, previous outings. You’d think so, wouldn’t cha’?
The main changes tonite…are Gyorko at 1B and Moss in LF. So, OK…let’s play ball.

MM should get flack and Waino is not an ace anymore. I hated typing that

Looks like Pena will be activated by first pitch tonite. Most of the articles I’ve read, say that Fryer will likely be picked up soon after the Cards option him down to AAA.
One article said the Pirates would probably be the most interested, since Fryer would be a definite upgrade from Cervelli’s back-up catcher. Besides, Fryer has a history with Pittsburgh. Too bad. I’ve always thought Eric was quite an above average player….both offensively & defensively.
And unfortunately you’re right, Dave. Waino just doesn’t seem to “have it”, anymore.
Last year, I told my buddy that I feel the AL is simply a better league than the NL. I think it still might be true. Measuring teams by wins & losses the way they are, doesn’t necessarily reflect certain other things…ya’ know?
And getting back to the Rosenthal issue? Used to be that a 100mph flame-thrower was uncommon…but not any more. If Rosie can’t figure out how to use other pitches besides his fast-ball? He may not end up becoming the pitcher he hopes to be.

As far as the NL vs. AL, I think the NL is far better than the AL. And too bad about Fryer he’s a gamer.

Point taken…so we can agree to disagree, groovy? Tee-hee.
Pre-game, they said the way it works, is that there’ll be 10 days before anyone can make a play for Fryer….which gives da’ Birds some time to think him over. Fingers crossed….
