I’m not saying this was a HUGE game, but while I was watching Garcia crap his pants I wondered. Has he ever come up big in a game that mattered? Can anyone think of that game? I can’t.

Mets announcers commented on the lack of jumps/speed in our outfield. Hadn’t noticed that before……..hummm? Will watch for that tonight. Also I noticed that Yadi was more square behind the plate last night. Of course Garcia was down the middle. Poor throw on that double steal too. Low and in the dirt. Could of had the runner at third with just a decent throw on replay.
The announcers noted about us:
Bullpen has an era, under 3 since the All-Star break.
Offense is on a pace to have the second highest HR totals in team history.
Gyorko is a first pitch fastball guy, which is why he saw sliders all night.
Cardinals were the second most injured team in MLB this year. Behind who I didn’t hear.

I noticed Grichuk was jumpin’ the gun again, and whiffing like he was before. I think Grickuk tho’, is likely the speediest of the outfielders.
Plus, I agree with that Met’s announcer. Our OF guys just don’t seem to be giving their max effort. Frankly, it’s almost as if they’re worn out or sumpin’.
And maybe you’re right about Garcia. Could be he doesn’t mentally do as well, when there’s a little extra pressure on to win. Gawd, I dread his post-game interviews too. No matter what they ask, which is usually about the same kinda’ questions each time? He hums & haws, then says, “Yeah, I gotta’ do better next time.” Nothing more.
Ha, you got that right. They definitely have Gyorko’s number now. He’s hit enuf’ HR’s for the opposing teams to finally figure him out.
As for Yadi? Last nite, one of the Fox Sports Midwest guys even commented on Yadi occasionally setting-up way to the outside of the plate, and was wondering why so far. I think Yadi did it several times with Tui, specifically. Sheesh, just a waste of pitches….
