The way things are going not only will the Cubs win the division, but also knock us out of the playoffs.
Are you watching management? Do you see we’re light years away from them?
What’s your plan to make up 15 plus games? Have you checked the FA list? ( It sucks ) Sitting on your hands and trolling the wavier wire doesn’t work anymore.
Are you watching Mo????

Yeah, Mo’s watching. No more moves this season, so he’s probably already somewhat focused on next season.
And we haven’t lost the race quite yet. Mets & SF both lost today too. I dunno’ what the Cards will do from here on out. Taking Jaime out so early was a sign that MM’s at least trying to do whatever it takes right now. I have to assume Mo’s thinking is the same.
As one of our local radio guys said tonite? The Birds are uber unpredictable. Sweeping the Cubs previously, then following that up with a series loss to the likes of the A’s & Reds? There’s just no way to predict anything that concerns the Cardiac Cards.
The one thing the radio guy did say…is that the Cubs won’t want to face the Cards in the post-season specifically BECAUSE of the unpredictability factor…so yep, they’ll try their best to knock us out before post-season begins. Otherwise, they might play some of their bench players vs other teams, simply to give their main guys some rest.
This entire season, pitching has been our Achilles heel. The only option I see for these last few regular season games…is to play musical pitchers. MM may still start Jaime one or two more times. But he probably won’t hesitate to yank him early either, like he did his last start.

It’s not just pithing though. It will be a long rebuild I think once the core moves on.

“The #STLCards have not had a hit with RISP since Saturday and are now hitting a Major League-worst .205 with RISP since the All-Star break. 21 hours ago”.

Yup, I saw that. Even tho’ the Cards have a bunch of HR’s? They’re lousy at manufacturing runs out of base hits.
Did you see Reyes is starting Sunday? Also, Rosenthal has been activated, and can pitch out of the bullpen tonite. It’ll be interesting to see if he gets used…and if so, in the 7th, 8th or 9th?
