Post-game, one of our local FoxSports guys actually mentioned how the Cards’ veteran core is no longer very productive…pointing out that it’s essentially, the younger players who’ve been carrying the Birds to this point. Unexpected really, and not the usual sugar-coated, glass-half-full type of comment typically heard.

About time. Its been apparent for most of the season. Problem is they weren’t traded at the deadline so they’ll be kepted for next year. Next year’s free agent group is awful. The team we have now will not be able to make up the 15-20 games needed to win the division. Or the 5-6 games needed to make the WC game.
As of now the Cards are fading like an old pair of jeans……..plus holes.

Yep. Unfortunately, I’m afraid you’re right.
But there wasn’t really anyone to trade, maybe except for Adams. And he’s been on the DL a little bit this season. Keep in mind that Holliday’s contract precluded Mo from trading him.
