Leake………….gulp!!

They will be lucky to reach your projection of 86 wins now…. but DeGrom just scratched for the season (need surgery) so there’s a glimmer of hope versus the Mets.

Let’s pray that Leake has an attitude against his old team. Might help. Who knows.
Good to hear deGrom’s out. That could help too.

I’m not. The Mets will need him to beat the Cubs. 86 wins will mean the Cards will have to go 9-5 from here on out. And that includes a series with the Cubs. Not feeling it. Still wondering about how they even make the playoffs next year?? And I don’t put this year’s issues just on MM,Mo needs to look in the mirror too, but will he?? Barely above the Mendoza line with men in scoring position, poor defense, and awful base running all year. That’s on the players and who acquired them? Mo.

I think base-running decisions can be put on the players somewhat. But doesn’t management pre-determine how they want it done, prior to each game? Seems like it should be, if it isn’t.

True, but the final discission rests on the player. Base coaches merely give the runner their opinion via hand signals. The runner/player has the final say.

We saw an odd choice from Molina in the 9th tonight – seems to make no sense at all. But they did hold on for the win to split the series which is better than it looked after that drubbing on Friday.
